Approximately 16,200 bottles of Woolite Delicates Detergent have been recalled after potential contamination was identified, News Nation reported.
Reckitt, the manufacturer of Woolite Delicates Detergent, took this precautionary step after discovering that certain units might contain the Pseudomonas oleovorans bacteria. This bacterium poses serious health risks to individuals with compromised immune systems.
Amazon exclusively sold the affected products, which helps limit the scope of the recall. This recall includes specific units labeled with lot codes S24364, S24365, and S24366. Reckitt urges customers who purchased detergent with these identifiers to stop using it immediately and follow the recall procedures to obtain a refund.
Pseudomonas oleovorans, the bacterium found in the recalled detergent, rarely affects individuals with a healthy immune system. However, for those with weakened immunities, such as individuals undergoing chemotherapy, the elderly, or those with chronic health conditions, the risk of serious infection is significantly higher.
