Authorities caught Adriano Abreu Bonifacio receiving a large quantity of fentanyl in a major crackdown on drug trafficking in Suffolk County.
Arrested after receiving a UPS delivery, Adriano Abreu Bonifacio now faces charges that could link him to potential large-scale drug distribution, New York Post reported.
Following a tip-off from California police, Suffolk County authorities started tracking a suspicious package originating from Paramount, California. Once alerted, Suffolk County police anticipated the arrival of the lethal shipment, initiating a strategic response.
Local enforcement intercepted the package. Champ, a trained drug detection dog, played a crucial role in confirming the presence of narcotics—specifically, fentanyl, a substance widely recognized for its potency and danger.
Following this, authorities staged an undercover operation to safely apprehend the suspect. On December 18, a drug enforcement officer disguised as a UPS driver handled the delivery, setting the next phase of their plan into motion.
