Coach Darian DeVries led WVU's basketball team to a season record of 19 wins and 13 losses. Despite securing six victories in Quad I games, the team failed to make the tournament and did not earn a spot in the AP top 25 men's college basketball rankings.
Coach DeVries expressed his dismay regarding the exclusion, stating, "Obviously, we are extremely shocked, saddened, and disappointed with not being selected for the NCAA Tournament.
