Hollywood star's mysterious death sparks wild conspiracy theories

The death of legendary actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, shocked the serene city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, when authorities found their bodies in their lavish home. Discovered separately in different rooms on Wednesday around 1:45 pm by a caretaker, the couple's sudden death has left both fans and authorities puzzled.According to the Daily Mail, this distressing event has given rise to speculative and unsupported claims of foul play, notably by actor Randy Quaid.

The local police reported that they found no apparent signs of forced entry and noticed the front door was somewhat ajar when they discovered the bodies. The Santa Fe Fire Department swiftly ruled out a gas leak, further deepening the mystery surrounding the fatalities.

Investigation Underway

The death of Gene Hackman and his wife is currently under investigation, with no immediate evidence pointing to foul play, as stated by Santa Fe Sheriff Adam Mendoza. Nevertheless, Hackman's pacemaker stopped recording on February 17, which has led investigators to consider this date as the potential day of his demise.

Notably, prescription bottles and medications were found near the bodies, which are now part of the police’s probe into the exact cause of death. "The prescription bottle is something of concern," noted Sheriff Mendoza, hinting that the medications might play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation.

Both Hackman and Arakawa might have experienced sudden falls, with Hackman found near his sunglasses and Arakawa close to a pill bottle, adding another layer to the complex inquiry.

Controversial Claims by Randy Quaid

Randy Quaid, a controversial figure with a history of legal issues and conspiracy theories, has publicly claimed that the Hackmans were murdered. Without evidence, he drew parallels between their deaths and other Hollywood figures like Heath Ledger, suggesting a pattern of criminal actions against celebrities.

Quaid’s assertions revolve around an alleged group he calls 'Hollywood Star Whackers', which he blames for various celebrity incidents. His dramatic statements on social media have garnered attention and debate. "Gene Hackman and his wife are murder victims, some scum bags did it and staged it," Quaid claimed emphatically.

In an additional post, Quaid proposed, "I should become a special FBI agent to these investigations of Hollywood Murders! I already have some good leads on who killed Gene Hackman."

Legal and Public Reaction

The claims by Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have not gone unnoticed. Previously described as having faced arrests related to squatter and fugitive related charges, the Quaids have long maintained that they have been targeted by the same alleged conspirators. "They're hunting us. It's happening," Evi Quaid stated in a pointed accusation against unnamed adversaries.

These remarks have stirred a mix of sympathy and skepticism within the public and media outlets. As speculative as they are, the Quaids' statements have brought an unexpected twist to the narrative surrounding the Hackman deaths.

As the investigation proceeds, law enforcement continues to approach the case with caution, emphasizing the absence of concrete evidence of foul play but remaining open to all possibilities. "I think I'm pretty confident that there is no foul play just based on the lack of evidence. But, of course, we're not ruling that out," Sheriff Mendoza articulated, reflecting the delicate balance of the ongoing probe.
