A UK court sentenced a British mother to seven years in prison after authorities discovered her baby concealed in a drawer beneath her bed, surviving in severe neglect for three years.
In a shocking case of child cruelty, a mother from Cheshire, England, has been jailed for depriving her baby of normal childhood experiences and necessities, the New York Post reported.
The mother delivered the baby herself in a bathtub in 2020. Initially, she cared for and fed the child. However, she abruptly ended this normalcy by hiding the baby in a drawer under her bed, concealing her existence from everyone else in the household.
The mother confined the child to that space for the first three years of her life, depriving her of social interaction, sunlight, and fresh air.
