Dating Guru Discusses Women’s Preferences For Conservative Men Over Liberals

Steve Santagati, a known author and self-proclaimed expert on dating dynamics, recently shared his insights with Fox News Digital, triggering discussions about gender roles and political affiliations in dating preferences. Santagati claims that many liberal women feel safer and respect conservative men more, despite sharing political views with liberal men.

In a recent interview, Santagati suggested that traditional masculinity is preferred by women, irrespective of their political leanings, New York Post reported.

Santagati, who wrote the 2008 book "The Manual: A True Bad Boy Explains How Men Think, Date, and Mate—and What Women Can Do to Come Out on Top", has long analyzed romantic relationships. His conclusions often stir debate, advocating that real-life experiences contradict politically correct rhetoric about gender roles.

During his discussion, Santagati used a hypothetical scenario in which a woman's car gets a flat tire during rain. He argues that the image of a conservative man aligns with being capable and reliable in traditional scenarios, and claims that liberal men eschew these roles by not fulfilling them.

Exploring Gender Roles In Modern Political Contexts

Moreover, Santagati referenced commentary from CNN’s Dana Bash at the Democratic National Convention, where she discussed the Democratic Party's attempts to appeal to men who may not embody an overly macho, rugged persona. These efforts included promoting figures like Tim Walz and utilizing imagery like camouflage campaign hats, which Santagati sees as an attempt to reclaim traditional masculinity within the party’s ranks.

Santagati's remarks extend beyond mere dating advice. He criticized the type of men often seen at the Democratic National Convention, describing them as inauthentic and too apologetic about their identity characteristics, suggesting this might turn off potential female partners.

The Appeal of Conservative Men: Logic and Stability

Santagati claims that women often see conservative men as more logical and possessing common sense, qualities that contribute to a feeling of stability and safety in a relationship. This perspective, he asserts, is why many liberal women might find themselves gravitating towards men with conservative values, despite a shared ideology with liberal men.

"Women want to be with a man that they can trust, that they feel safe with," Santagati explained. He emphasized that this trust and safety are qualities "conservative men have over liberals by a landslide."

He underscores his belief that masculinity cannot be superficially adopted by stating that men’s attractiveness isn’t enhanced simply by taking up hobbies like fly-fishing or shooting—it needs to be integral to one's character.

Critique of Democratic Convention Attendees

Santagati did not hold back in his critique of the attendees of the Democratic National Convention, whom he labeled as angry and unauthentic. He particularly focused on how the men present apologized for "male toxicity" and other identity attributes, which according to him, are not qualities that women look for in a partner.

This blunt portrayal by Santagati offers a stark view of the intersection of politics and personal relationships. He believes that despite societal pushes towards equality and politeness, the core desires of many women remain aligned with traditional views of masculinity which they see as being more prevalent among conservative men.

While his statements have sparked a range of reactions, it’s clear that Santagati's views add a provocative angle to the discussion on how political beliefs can impact personal and romantic relationships. These comments provide a baseline for further examination of how gender expectation dynamics continue to evolve in modern society.
