Her father, John Ramsey, to reinvigorate interest in his daughter's unsolved case, participated in a new TV series where he provided crucial assertions about the handling of the investigation.
He revealed that law enforcement had overlooked the DNA evidence discovered on the murder weapon. "I don't know why they didn't test it in the beginning. To my knowledge, it still hasn't been tested," John Ramsey disclosed in the series, adding, "If they're testing it and just not telling me, that’s great, but I have no reason to believe that."
On December 26, 1996, the Ramsey family faced a tragic twist when Patsy Ramsey reported her six-year-old daughter, JonBenét, missing in Boulder. The young girl was subsequently found dead in her home, leading to a sensational case that combined elements of a possible kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder.
JonBenét had suffered beating and strangulation, her small body left in a condition that suggested a crime of severe brutality. Her death prompted an intense national media frenzy, with her family members often under the specter of suspicion.
