Ketamine Queen Linked To Matthew Perry's Fatal Overdose

Matthew Perry, known worldwide for his role as Chandler Bing on "Friends," tragically lost his life to an overdose last year.Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed the 'Ketamine Queen' and tied to her family’s fast-food network, stands charged in the death of Perry, Mail Online reported.

On October 28, 2023, the world was rocked by news of the sudden death of Matthew Perry at his residence in Los Angeles. An official coroner’s report later confirmed that the actor died due to an overdose. This incident has not only saddened fans but also sparked a large-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Jasveen Sangha, along with five others, was arrested in early August 2024. These arrests stemmed from connections made between Perry and alleged illicit drug deals. Sangha specifically has drawn significant attention due to her family’s prominence in the fast-food industry through their numerous KFC franchise holdings.

These family connections are peculiarly intertwined with Sangha’s legal troubles. Her parents, Nilem and Ashok Sahadevan have faced multiple legal issues over the management of their fast-food franchises. Past cases have centered primarily around mismanagement and financial violations at their restaurant chains.

Legal Battles and Family Troubles

In 2010, Nilem and Ashok, who own Tasty Birds Management, faced a legal challenge for failing to compensate employees adequately at a KFC outlet in Eureka, California. This legal action was one among several that spotlighted the troubled operations under their management.

The issues continued in the same year, with KFC Corporation suing the couple for not paying royalties related to some of their other KFC outlets in Barstow, Fortuna, and Crescent City. The financial problems seemed to culminate in 2013 when a Kentucky judge ordered them to settle unpaid franchise royalties amounting to over $52,000, a figure that increased with penalties and interest over the next two years.

The financial strain led Ashok Sahadevan to declare bankruptcy after they lost a lawsuit regarding a remodel loan for their restaurant. Personal financial woes, including housing foreclosure and accumulating debts, compounded this situation.

Rising From Business Struggles to Legal Scrutiny

Facing intense scrutiny now is Jasveen Sangha herself, who in addition to her familial troubles now contends with serious charges relating to Perry’s death. Prosecutors accuse her of supplying the drugs that led to the overdose, with charges severe enough to potentially keep her behind bars for a decade to a life sentence.

Jasveen, amidst the burgeoning court battles, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Her legal team is gearing up for a contentious fight that probes not only her actions but also her connections through family and their business enterprises.

In the process, the entire case has gathered significant media attention due to its connections versus the high-profile victim, and the unusual backdrop of a life surrounded by public and private battles.

A Complex Web of Connections and Consequences

The involvement of additional individuals, including two doctors and Perry’s assistant, hints at a broader network and complexities involved in the actor’s life and tragic end. These four other suspects face their own set of charges in connection to the events leading to Perry's overdose.

The ongoing legal proceedings will continue to unravel not only the direct circumstances that led to Perry’s overdose but also illuminate deeper systemic issues related to drug abuse and accountability within privileged circles.

Last year’s sorrowful departure of Perry has initiated discussions far beyond just his contributions to television and film, delving into serious concerns about substance abuse, mental health, and the influences of both personal and professional networks.
