50 Cent Defends Las Vegas Show Against Blogger's Harsh Criticism

In a recent stirring response, rapper 50 Cent countered severe critique of his Las Vegas show, direct from the stage itself.

Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, vocally disputed claims from a Las Vegas blogger who labeled his residency as the poorest show ever seen in the city, Mail Online reported.

During one of his concerts at Planet Hollywood, in front of a full house, 50 Cent took a moment to address criticisms about his Las Vegas residency's production quality.

This follows a harsh review by Jennifer Gay, a well-known blogger who writes under the pseudonym Vegas Starfish and boasts nearly one million followers.

Gay had taken to Instagram to voice her disappointment, critiquing aspects such as sound balance, stage design, and overall performance energy. She depicted the sound as "poorly balanced" and the hype men as "unrelenting and overbearing," overshadowing the main performance.

Rapper Challenges Critics During Sold-Out Show

The rapper humorously compared his show's production elements to performances by other artists, referencing their elaborate staging and effects to highlight the simplicity of his setup. "What, you thought I’m gonna be out here rollerblading like Usher and s**t?" he joked, lightening the mood amidst the critiques.

Furthermore, 50 Cent noted, "I seen some s**t, Chris Brown was flying in Africa. I don't have records that require me to fly in Africa," thereby contextualizing the expectations set upon different artists' performances.

Online responses to Gay's critique varied significantly. Some fans defended the rapper, pointing out that the venue might have been responsible for technical issues such as audio and visuals.

DailyMail.com has reached out to both Jackson and Planet Hollywood for comments, but as of now, they have not provided a statement.

Varied Audience Receptions and Venue Details

The venue, PH Live also known as Bakkt Theater, is equipped with advanced sound and visual systems and has hosted numerous other major artists without similar complaints.

A commenter echoed a sentiment different from Gay, praising, "The entire crowd was engaged and stood up and danced the entire time. Not sure what show you went to, but the one I went to was awesome." Such disparity in audience experience highlights the subjective nature of live performances.

50 Cent's six-date residency is scheduled to culminate in a New Year's Eve performance, presenting an opportunity for fans and critics alike to revisit their assessments.

Critic Sharpens Review Through Social Platforms

Jennifer Gay's review didn't hold back on any aspects, from the sound and hype men to Jackson's perceived lack of energy and engagement. "The stage design and graphics felt like they were organized 15 minutes before the show with a Chat GPT prompt for ’90s hip hop images,' " she derisively commented.

She further stated, "This was the worst live performance, for any artist, I’ve ever attended," marking her review as particularly damning.

Gay also questioned the effort put into the show, suggesting Jackson might not have been fully invested in the residency: "It felt like he didn’t want to be here after the first 10 minutes."

Gay's harsh words found their way to Jackson, who felt compelled to address the critiques head-on during his subsequent live show, ensuring his voice was added to the narrative.</p
